Summarizing recent reflection, on 1 year in Canada

Two days ago, my wife and I submitted our application for permanent residency in Canada. A big step, after 436 days (or 1 year, 2 months, 10 days) in our new Country.

A few notable, and cathartic experience have happened – including the first day of Year 2! Knowing that we have seasons, and a full year of experience away from our old home, family and everything that was familiar, is quite a realisation.

Today, I went out to Ambleside, to do the ParkRun. South Africans are having an impact here – Dirk and Diane are the founders. As I battle the midlife waistline, dealing with my health and weight and fitness is becoming important. Hopefully, ParkRun can play a role in all of that.
